This is a companion course or the Geopolitics, International Affairs and Governance course.
Through a country case study, using macroeconomic perspective, the issue covered is how
globalization impacts the national economy and what are the consequences for business ?
The chosen country will be studied using the framework, issues and models of international
economics.

Contenu

After completing the course, students :
 Will be able to asses the macroeconomic outlook of a country (economic indicators,
economic cycles) using a dashboard;
 Will be able to assess the sustainability of macroeconomic policy using the balance
of payments;
 Will be able to asses the Competitive situation of a country from a labor point of view
(costs, skills);
 Will be able to give global rating, from a business point of view, on the economic
potential of a country in a globalized word.

Prérequis

ECO1209 ou similaire (Introduction à l'économie).

Evaluation

 Group Report = 60%
 Individual Final Exam = 40%

Approches pédagogiques

The course is designed around a large cas study (India)
Groupwork on the case study is supplemented by lectures on technical aspects.
