If you want to communicate better this course is for you. This is a theme based course on personal professional communication. The course gives students the tools with which they can solve problems and find solutions by using effective methods of communication.
At the end of the course the students will be familiar with the tools of communication in English which they can apply in a professional context. They will equally be capable of evaluating their own communication skills.
The course helps to find common aims within a group, break down barriers, and make connections between tasks and people in an enjoyable, constructive and relaxed way. Through real role play, simulations, negotiating, meetings, discussion, and interviews, the course is highly interactive with an emphasis on task based learning.
The class demands interaction, the students are expected to engage, to converse and listen to the ideas and opinions of group members while working towards the common goal of improving communication. In short, to become a team player. You will be expected to be on time for classes.
Phones and PCs can be a barrier to F2F communication. Use of such items in class are for research purposes only and for which you need given permission.
50 % (Participation and presence , 1 presentation , 1 written essay, 1 in class written task text summary/vocabulary and grammar test, 1 group simulation task)
50 % Final written examination
Validating the Tandem course will add 2 bonus points in the continuous assessment grade of the corresponding language course.

Full attendance is obligatory unless a medical certificate is obtained.
A personal investment in class and a willingness to work together as a group.
Weekly homework includes grammar and is compulsory. It is marked as part of the continuous control.
