Introduction au module
The goal of this course is to help learners understand what an Information System is and to master the EXCEL spreadsheet program. This course actively contributes to the understanding and analysis of information systems within organizations. It enables learners to master the use of EXCEL in business settings. By the end of this course, learners will be able to:
- understand the concept of Information Systems
- manage business problems using Excel.
Upon completion of this course, learners should be able to:
• model, using Excel, simple decision-making problems in various economic fields (e.g., finance, marketing, logistics, statistics, etc.)
• use Excel (including advanced functions) to perform simulations and support decision-making.

A variety of teaching methods are used: hands-on activities, individual assignments, peer assessment, and case studies.
Système de notation et modalités de rattrapage
The assessment consists of participation anf exercises to be completed during class (review of concepts covered) on a computer (using Excel).
If the final grade is below 10/20, a make-up exam will be scheduled Teacher-Student Communication
Règlement du module
● The instructor will contact students via their school email address (IMT-BS/TSP) and the Moodle portal. No communication will take place via personal email addresses. It is the student’s responsibility to check their IMT-BS/TSP email regularly.
● Students may contact the instructor by sending an email to their institutional address. If necessary, students may meet with the professor in their office during office hours or by appointment.
Students with Accommodation Needs
If a student has a disability that prevents them from completing the assigned work or requires any type of accommodation, it is their responsibility to inform the Director of Studies (with supporting documentation) as soon as possible. Also, the student should not hesitate to discuss this with their instructor.
Classroom Behavior
● As a courtesy to the instructor and other students, all cell phones, electronic games, or other devices that produce sound must be turned off during class.
● Students must avoid disruptive and disrespectful behavior such as: arriving late to class, leaving early, or acting inappropriately (e.g., sleeping, reading material unrelated to the course, using vulgar language, talking excessively, eating, drinking, etc.). A warning may be issued for the first violation of these rules. Violators will be penalized and may be expelled from the class and/or face other disciplinary actions.
